God's Love

I don’t think you ever truly understand God’s love until you witness His grace for the things you’ve done. Never in a million years would I have dreamed I would have experienced Heaven and be given a second chance.

I shared in my last blog “What is Church” about the abortion I had. With Easter here, I always become overwhelmed with emotions as the truth of Jesus sinks in.

The reality of if it wasn’t for Jesus dying on the cross, my sins wouldn’t be forgiven. I can’t imagine the pain Jesus felt that day while He hung on the cross. Whispering to His Father “why have you forsaken me?” Have you ever felt like God has forsaken you?

I know I have, and it’s a very lonely feeling. A feeling of not knowing what the future holds. But,;as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ we are reminded of the love God will always have for us.

God loves us so much, that He gave His one and only begotten Son, so we could live in freedom and not condemnation and have eternal life. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

But where many people abuse God’s love, grace and mercy is by continuing to live their lives in a way that is a sin to God. It’s been ten years since God saved me. In these past ten years, it has been a long journey of healing and releasing. Letting go of the pain that would cause me to continue to sin against God.
It wasn’t a fast change but a process that has taken time. Let me be honest, my life was a wreck, so I needed extra time. But, one thing I learned is the value in getting prepared for the return of Jesus.

Jesus didn’t die on the cross and endure the pain He went through for us to take it for granted. The gift of forgiveness has been abused for to many years causing great destruction to come to our nation.

I have had a feeling over the past several months of a big explosion. What will the explosion be? I’m not sure, but I do know it will affect every single one of us. It will humble us like we’ve never been humbled before and hopefully turn us back to the real God. The God that created the Heavens and Earth. The God that sent His Son to be crucified so we could have forgiveness of our sins.

One thing is for certain, God is a God that keeps His promises. And one day very soon, Jesus will come for His Bride. Are you ready?
